On October 19, 2007, the 21st annual Alzheimer Society of Washington Fall Conference was held at Christ the King Center in Bellingham. Unmasking Dementia Care Issues was the theme this year. Eight professional speakers filled the day with new and memorable information. Professional and family caregivers attended the all-day conference.

A regular part of the annual fall conference is the presentation of the SOMEONE WHO CARES AWARDS and the KEN & CAROL KING COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD. Four outstanding caregivers were recognized with the SOMEONE WHO CARES AWARD: Arletta & Paul Swinson nominated by Bonnie Karb, Darlene Lindsay nominated by Curt Lindsay, and Bonnie Karb nominated by Mary Alka. The KEN & CAROL KING COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD was presented to Mary Lynn Palmer for outstanding work with the St. Joseph Hospital Adult Day Health Program and her support of Alzheimer Society educational programs.
